Jul 25, 2014

A leading European publisher, Mondadori, has acquired the online retail company London Boutiques. Leading national audit, tax and advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill’s transaction support team provided due diligence and employment advisory services to Mondadori. The services were led by Peter Varley, Lee Hamilton and James Jupp.

Peter Varley, Partner at Crowe Clark Whitehill said:

“Mondadori’s acquisition of London Boutiques will enable the company to accelerate its development of the Grazia International Network. We’re pleased to have supported this exciting transaction and are looking forward to supporting Mondadori in the next stage of its development”.

Ernesto Mauri, CEO of the Mondadori Group said:

“This operation is part of a project for the launch of a global e-commerce platform for the Grazia brand. A leader among international fashion-oriented magazines for its rapid development and innovative formula, Grazia is now taking a decisive step into digital: this acquisition is the first step towards a development plan that starts from London, the biggest European market for e-commerce fashion, and that will soon also include many of the most important trend-setting boutiques in the main cities of Italy and France. The aim is to expand also to the other countries where Grazia is published and beyond”.

Zeno Pellizzari, General Manager at Mondadori, said:

“The Crowe Clark Whitehill team provided a first-class service to Mondadori, responding timely and efficiently to our different requests - thus enabling us to successfully close the deal within a very tight deadline”.
