Service Providers

Not for profit organisations that provide services for a fee have special issues relating to pricing and costs. They usually contract with public sector bodies to deliver their charitable aims and there are specific risks and rewards that go with this.

Service providers come in many shapes and forms. Some obtain all or most of their income from fees for providing services whilst others have the full range of typical charitable. fundraising alongside

There are challenges with understanding the changing commissioning environment and the basis of costing.

These are demanding times for service providing charities which often get much of their income form the public sector. Income is under threat whilst the need for services is ever increasing.

New legislation, changing regulations and new funding pressures will mean even more challenges. Political instability, recessionary pressures, cost escalation exacerbate the impact on vulnerable communities and it has become self-evident that plans for future strategic development will have to take into account not only all of these factors, but also a very different environment from that of the early last decade.

Uncertainty in the funding environment means that many service provision charities have had to focus on cost reduction.

In addition, to the broader services we provide to Not for Profits generally we assist Service providing charities with:

  • business plans
  • cost optimisation
  • pricing structures
  • collaborative and consortium bidding
  • understanding outcome based commissioning
  • structural reviews.
