Crowe Horwath expands to 12 locations in Malaysia 

KUCHING: Crowe Horwath announced the merger of Hii & Lee (together with Kenny Chong of Tong & Chong Partners) into Crowe Horwath Malaysia at a merger signing ceremony at Kuching Hilton. The event was officiated by YB Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, Minister of Finance II and Minister of Environment and Public Health who was present to witness the milestone event on behalf of the Chief Minister of Sarawak and Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning and Resources Management, YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Bin Mahmud.

As the 5th largest accounting firm in Malaysia, Crowe Horwath will now have offices in 12 locations and 750 staff nationwide servicing over 10,000 clients of which 135 are public listed clients.

Taking effect from 1 January 2011, the merger will see Crowe Horwath being established as one of the top firms in Sarawak with global resources and strategic competencies in audit, tax and advisory to serve every Malaysian client with national, regional and global needs.

In Kuching where there are two branches, an integration plan to be phased over 1-2 years is in effect, in order that the merger can be transitioned smoothly.

The two branches in Kuching are based at Brighton Square and Jalan Petanak.
